Language Is More Than Vocabulary

Many people think language learning is about words.

Language Is a Tool

People rarely learn a language simply to know a language.

  • understand another culture.

Beyond Grammar

Grammar explains how language works.

That is why grammar should support communication rather than replace it.

Understanding comes first.

Terminology comes second.

Knowing a word and understanding a word are not always the same thing.

That is why language learning goes far beyond memorizing vocabulary lists.
